National News: After the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir on 22 April, India has taken revenge by carrying out air strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). During this action, 21 terrorist camps and training sites located at nine places have been targeted. However, this action taken by India named Operation Sindoor is not only a response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, but through this India has hit many targets with one arrow. Let's know how and what is the whole story.

On April 22, male tourists were separated from women and children and killed in Baisaran, Pahalgam, South Kashmir. They were targeted on the basis of religion, in which 26 tourists lost their lives. These included a Nepali and a local Kashmiri. The Resistance Front, a faction of the Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed responsibility for this attack. After this, India also accused Pakistan of the attack, but it denied it.

India launched Operation Sindoor

After the Pahalgam terror attack, India directly targeted the terrorists based in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Under Operation Sindoor, India destroyed many terrorist hideouts by attacking with missiles at night, including the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed located in Bahawalpur and the Markaz of Lashkar-e-Taiba located in Muridke. Media reports have said that dozens of terrorists have been killed in this operation, but no official confirmation has been made so far.

Pulwama attack avenged too

Through this action, India has not only avenged the Pahalgam massacre, but has also responded to other terrorist attacks carried out by Pakistani terrorists. By targeting only terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, India has also given the message that it is fighting only for justice. In fact, during this operation, such targets were chosen from which not only the Pahalgam attack could be avenged, but also the locations where other attacks in India were being planned were targeted.

During this time, the biggest attack was carried out on Jaish-e-Mohammed's headquarters Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur. In this, 10 members of Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar's family were killed. Four of his close aides were also killed. From this Jaish headquarters located in Pakistan's Punjab province, a conspiracy was hatched to carry out a suicide attack on the convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force in Pulwama in 2019. More than 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in that attack.

Pathankot attack plot site destroyed

In 2016, the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot, Punjab was targeted, in which six security personnel were martyred. In the early hours of May 7 (07 May 2025), India fired missiles on the Jaish camp located in Tehra Kalan village of Sarjal area in Punjab, Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. This camp was mainly being used as a launch pad for terrorists to spread terror in Jammu and Kashmir.

This camp was located near the Samba sector in Jammu, just six km from the international border. Media reports have said that Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and Jaish have built underground tunnels in the Shakargarh area, through which terrorists are infiltrated into India. After Operation Sindoor, Lieutenant Colonel Sophia Qureshi said that this camp was targeted because it was directly related to the terrorist attack in Pathankot in 2016. Ali Kashif, the Pakistani handler of the terrorist attack on the Pathankot airbase, used to operate terrorist activities from the camp located in Jan Sarjal.

Mumbai attack site targeted too

Markaz Taiba, located in Nangal Sahdan of Muridke in Pakistan, is said to be the headquarters of Hafiz Saeed's terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. It is spread over 82 acres, where weapons are stored and physical training is given to terrorists. This center is directly connected to Osama bin Laden, who had funded the construction of a mosque and guest house in this complex in the year 2000.

Preparations for the 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai were made here. Ajmal Kasab and other terrorists received Daura-e-Ribbat (intelligence training) here. Media reports have said that 26/11 Mumbai attack conspirators David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana had also visited Muridke along with many other conspirators. Hafiz Saeed as well as other Lashkar terrorists like Zaki-ur-Rehman also reside at this place. India has targeted and destroyed this location as well.
